In much the same way No Man’s Sky takes players on a journey, the developers at Hello Games have undertaken quite the expedition in updating the game over the years. In a video posted to the Hello Games YouTube channel, it looks as though No Man’s Sky will be getting a spooky-themed update, just in time for the end of October jubilations. Referred to as “Emergence,” this patch will see players stranded on a planet called Wasan, with a dark narrative to boot. The video description describes the planet as “barren” and plagued with “Titan Worms” in which fans are tasked with cleansing the planet and unraveling the mystery of the story....

The “multiplayer” experience in No Man’s Sky was introduced in the Atlas Rising update, which details that the new gameplay isn’t traditional multiplayer but is something approaching it. Referred to as “joint exploration,” the feature allows players to locate up to 15 other users in their vicinity, and interact with them over voice chat. Interactions include sending other players notes and messages, sharing bases, and speaking with others in real time....

It now seems as if No Man’s Sky may possibly be getting another update. According to a ResetEra forum post, an altered reality game, or ARG for short, has been released for the title. This ARG, titled Waking Titan, has been used in the past by the developers to tease players with new content or patches that were in the works. Many are now speculating that the use of the ARG means more content may be on the way for the game....
