Shortstop Hanley Ramirez had a CT scan on his left ribs Sunday. Results were not immediately available. X-rays taken Saturday were negative. Still, The Los Angeles Times speculated Ramirez has broken ribs. Ramirez, 29, was hit by a pitch from Cardinals starter Joe Kelly in Game 1 of the NLCS but stayed in to play all 13 innings of Friday's 3-2 loss. He was a late scratch for Game 2, a 1-0 defeat that left the Dodgers trailing the Cardinals 2-0 in the best-of-seven series....

Everything about the game, from the visuals to the gameplay to the procedurally-generated universe, have been tweaked and improved multiple times already, but the new update takes it a huge step further. Not only does it update the UI and add billions of new planets, it also introduces new environmental elements like volcanoes, firestorms, tornados, and lighting, on top of improved clouds, larger mountains, and larger structures. Players can also now encounter NPCs on planets as well as discover all sorts of new fauna, including a sci-fi staple: giant sandworms....

According to a recent post on the No Man’s Sky website, a new update has just rolled out, which specifically looks at fixing some issues with the new “Outlaws” DLC that came out recently. While this one doesn’t come with any content, it does appear to have quite a significant list of bug fixes, with the studio thanking players for giving feedback after the last major update. Some of the issues that have been fixed relate to things like pilot recruitment, mission progress, crashes on the console ports, and even an issue where the game was displaying updates from the wrong patch notes....

The newest icon waves began in 2022. Nintendo’s first wave of N64 icons was released this past November and included Super Mario 64, Kirby’s Crystal Shards, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, and N64 controller themes to choose from. The second wave included The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Yoshi’s Story, F-Zero X, and more controller-themed icons. Both waves concluded Nintendo’s special edition icons for 2022 and are no longer available to download....

The latest design to appear on Nintendo’s online forums might just be the best looking one yet, as Reddit user BostianALX has created the ultimate Pokemon-themed hardware, decorating their Switch with a Poké Ball pattern. Providing a lot of variation from the standard block colors that the Big N is currently shipping its Joy-Cons with, the Pokemon fan disassembled their expensive new console to give it both a custom paint job and an impressive new appearance....

Nintendo Switch Sports is the same concept as its predecessors. It’s basically a mini-game compilation with each mini-game based on a real-world sport. Instead of traditional button inputs, each sport is played with motion controls using the Switch Joy-Con controllers. There are a variety of sports for Nintendo Switch Sports players to try, with some returning fan favorites as well as some new ones. The three returning sports in Nintendo Switch Sports are bowling, tennis, and chambara, aka swordfighting....

What’s positive, though, is that many developers think that the Nintendo Switch will outsell the Wii U. In the fifth annual Game Developers Conference State of the Industry survey (via Gamasutra) which surveyed over 4,500 game developers, 50% said that they think the Switch will outperform the Wii U, while 14% disagreed and 37% said that they weren’t sure. 48% of developers also said that the Switch’s ability to go portable, using its tablet, will be a hit with gamers, though they didn’t think it would be “world-changing....

Hailing from the 3DS version of Smash, the screenshot itself doesn’t give fans a great look at what to expect from the revamped story mode, but franchise creator Masahiro Sakurai claims it will not be the same as Subspace Emissary mode. Largely, the only reason gamers have been able to establish that the picture is from the single-player campaign is because of a brief description offered by Sakurai in Nintendo’s MiiVerse....
