According to NintendoLife, the Nintendo Online service will go live in Europe first on September 18th before making its way to the US the next day, September 19th. At that time, games incorporating online play on Switch will require a subscription to the online service in order to continue playing (non-local) multiplayer games. A number of games currently on Switch depend heavily on their online communities, such as Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, with the upcoming Super Smash Bros....

Putting both the Xbox Series X and PS5 to shame, the market report drawn up by Ampere Analysis shows that the Switch has bested both the other two new-gen consoles by a country mile. The figures indicate that between January and March 2021, the Xbox sold 1.31 million units, while the PS5 sold 2.83 million, totaling 4.1 million overall. However, the Switch has outdone them both combined selling 5.86 million units in the same timeframe....

The latest thread to take off on the Nintendo Switch subreddit is entitled, “Check the back of your Switch, cracks forming near power button!” In the post, Reddit user Chiablo provides some visual evidence of what he claims is shoddy manufacturing. “I treat my Switch like a princess, never been dropped or abused in any way. Not only did the website show the console as having a launch at March’s mid-point, but also it was given a price of £198.50, which translates to roughly $234.66. While some Nintendo fans will be quick to take these details at face value, it’s important to note that both pieces of information could simply be placeholders for the Switch, as GameSeek does use temporary dates for games with unconfirmed release schedules....

The Summer update for Nintendo Switch Sports was first revealed last week, showing players what they would get on July 26.
