In fact, so popular is it now that someone is hoping an official No Man’s Sky LEGO set will eventually be made by the Danish toy company. There is a thriving and dedicated community of players that, thanks to the base building mechanics added into the game a few months after release, are only too keen to show off their constructions and design ideas. Many of these projects are very impressive, and one fan has shared their love of not only the game, but of science and space in general.

Reddit user Cold_Goal_2330 has shown off their building prowess in No Man’s Sky by creating the James Webb Space Telescope within the game, uploading a number of images of the impressive structure. What’s even more interesting about it is those who haven’t seen the official telescope could easily believe it’s something that belongs in the space-faring title, while those who are familiar with it can see that it’s a pretty accurate representation of the real thing. It’s hard to tell how big Cold_Goal_2330’s version is, but one of the images shows an interior shot and it appears to be quite sizeable.

Launched on Christmas Day in 2021, the JWST has been sent into space to seek out the first light that was emitted at the start of the universe’s existence, as well as to study star and galaxy formations, with a 10-year mission planned in total. Using infrared astronomy, James Webb has already sent back some incredible Skyrim-esque images of what’s out there, including some nebulas and its own Deep Field photograph.
With No Man’s Sky getting frequent updates and the title being ported to Nintendo Switch last October, Hello Games has really turned things around over the past few years. What started with one of the most disastrous launches in all of gaming has become a praised space exploration game that has a near-infinite amount of space to explore and affords players the opportunity to create some pretty incredible things.
