Fortunately, the wait is almost over, and gamers can expect the app to be added to the Wii U’s arsenal on December 20th.

Wii U owners’ current cable, satellite and video-on-demand services will soon be accessible from the nifty Ninty console itself too, making it incredibly easy for consumers to have access to whatever show or movie their heart may desire.

The Nintendo TVii application will launch in North America tomorrow, but it’ll only become available to consumers that reside in either America or Canada. There’s no news on the eventual European release quite yet, but Nintendo of Europe should be addressing that issue soon. Meanwhile, early adopters in Japan have been using the app since the Wii U launched in the country on December 8th, so the reason for the delay across the rest of the globe may strike some as a little odd.

There are a number of social features incorporated into Nintendo TVii as well, allowing Wii U owners to send out tweets or Facebook statuses pertaining to their favorite shows right from the Wii U GamePad. Of course, all of this will be available for free — provided users are already paying for the content from any one several different providers — so it isn’t a bad deal at all.
