This is proven by the latest drop of three games coming to Nintendo Switch Online. As SNES and NES games, these titles will be available to those with or without the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass. The releases were revealed in a trailer posted by Nintendo on its social media, and the new games available now for the subscription service are Fighter’s History, Kirby’s Avalanche, and DAIVA Story 6: Imperial of Nirsartia.

Fighter’s History is a classic arcade fighter, with a design that fans of the Street Fighter series are likely to be familiar with. Rather than being a clone of other classic arcade fighting titles, though, Fighter’s History has a unique core mechanic in its weak point system. Through hitting an opponent’s weak point, which differs from character to character, the player can stun their enemy once per round, leaving them open for attacks and combos.

Kirby’s Avalanche, which Europeans may know as Kirby’s Ghost Trap, is a puzzle game released by Nintendo in 1995. The plot revolves around Kirby facing off against his old foes from Kirby’s Dream Land and Kirby’s Adventure in order to win an Avalanche Competition, eventually facing King Dedede as his final opponent. Kirby’s Avalanche is an interesting puzzle game, one that some fans may not remember primarily due to its limited release. The game is the only Kirby title not to be released in Japan, as it was a Western release of the Japanese game Super Puyo Puyo with a Kirby makeover.

The final of the three games is DAIVA Story 6: Imperial of Nirsartia. Similarly to some other recent titles added to Nintendo Switch Online, DAIVA 6 has a sci-fi theme, letting players control seven heroes as they fight to survive in a galactic war. The story of the game does not run sequentially. Rather, it is a presentation of the same story from the different perspectives of the playable characters. Nintendo shows players a code they can use when loading DAIVA 6 in order to hop straight into a battle as well, if the story isn’t their thing.
